Septarian Towers

These septarian towers are a lovely way to add a natural feel to your living space. Also, as you may know, most septarian pieces are UV reactivity, too! Even if you just prefer the understated tones to match your décor style, the gorgeous pieces are great for any living space. We have 2 available. One piece has drusy and the other does not. These pieces do have minor scratches and have discounted pricing.

With these septarian towers, we have a fun décor idea—crystal grids. Towers are great for the centerpiece. You can make impressive displays filled with color and wonder.

These septarian towers are WYSIWYGs.

For those who are unfamiliar with WYSIWYG, it means: What You See Is What You Get. Pieces identified as WYSIWYGs are not a random pull of stones that are similar to the one(s) pictured. Instead, you receive the actual piece that is pictured.

What is Septarian?

The definition from mindat.org says:

"Said of the irregular polygonal pattern of internal cracks developed in septaria (singular septarium), closely resembling the desiccation structure of mud cracks; also said of the epigenetic mineral deposits that may occur as fillings of these cracks.

Septarian pieces are geological concretions that form in sedimentary rock. They are often made of calcite, aragonite, siderite, limestone and/or others. Septarian is not a true gemstone unto itself. Septarian is redirected to septarium on Mindat.org. Interestingly, there are a few names for septarian that we've never heard and they include beetle stone and turtle stone along with the more common septarian nodule and septarian concretion. 1. Sizes and weights are approximate. Dimension sizes can vary based on the way the rock is formed. We hand measure our pieces on the longest side. Please see the pictures in the listing.
2. The colors may vary due to monitor and lighting differences.
3. Please use your own judgment when allowing children to handle.
4. Not suggested for use in animal habitats or fish tanks.
5. UV Notes: For gemstones, 365nm is the best for UV lighting. Only some specimens illuminate under the other part of this spectrum (370-400nm). This is why some pictures are not as clear for our UV reactive pieces. Our current lights are at 365nm, but used to be 395mm only. For home use, the 395nm is less expensive, but in some cases, will need a zoomed beam on the flashlight style UV lights. If you do use a 365nm light, please take care to use eye protection.
