Pietersite is a striking gemstone known for its swirling patterns of gold, blue, and red hues which arise from amphibole minerals. It is a type of quartz (further subcategorized as chalcedony) that was first discovered in Namibia and named after Sid Pieters, a prospector. In addition to Namibia, pietersite is also found in China and South Africa. These countries are known for their rich deposits of pietersite, which are mined and then crafted into beautiful jewelry and ornamental pieces that showcase the stone's unique beauty.
